Western Rib® is an exposed fastener roofing panel and is commonly refereed to as 7.2 Panel in the metal roofing industry. Exposed metal roofing means that the screws to fasten the panels can be seen visually at the top of the roofing panel. Screws are drilled through the top of the roofing panel and attach to the cee purlins provided with your carport kit.
Cee purlins are the horizontal beams that look like the letter “C” and are used as a component of an open framed metal structure. They support the metal roofing panels and are attached to the square tube posts provided with your metal roofing carport kit.
Galvanizing is the process of applying a protective coating to steel. The coating is made from zinc and is used to halt the formation of rust. Galvanization is important because it provides long-lasting protection for steel products.

Do your carport kits come with a warranty?
A warranty only applies to painted metal roofing panels and is subject to the paint manufacturers warranty. Please contact your sales rep for a sample warranty.

Shipping costs vary. Please contact your sales rep for a shipping quote or ask for the # of crates, weights and dimensions of your carport kit to get your own quote from any freight forwarder.

Our metal carport kits are constructed using heavy-duty steel posts and purlins and are easily assembled using our exclusive Western Rib® metal roofing panels in your choice of premium SMP paint colors or standard Galvalume® finish. These quality metal carport kits are specifically designed and packaged for those who like to do-it-yourself and require a durable, straightforward steel carport that’s ready to build upon arrival. Steel carport kits are available in a variety of sizes that can accommodate a variety of needs such as protecting your vehicles, a place for shade on your patio, to add-on to your home for utility, or add as a place to store your boat in an open area of your property. Please note: All carport kits do not include structural plans. Preliminary plans are available for $250 but are not for construction and cannot be used to obtain a building permit. Always check with your city concerning local ordinances and building codes before you begin construction or consult with a general contractor.
